Update #1: We first brought you news of the Museum of Ice Cream a few weeks back, and now tickets go on sale to the public Friday, August 25, with pre-sale tickets for Amex Platinum cardholders tomorrow, Thursday, August 24. It opens fully on September 17 and will be open Wednesday to Monday, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.

The Financial District is about to get a little bit sweeter—because the most posted-about exhibit of 2017 is making its way over just in time for the end of summer. Alas, The Museum of Ice Cream will make San Francisco its new temporary home.

The Museum of Ice Cream has most likely seeped into your Instagram feed in recent months. It sold out in New York and Los Angeles. Creative Director Maryellis Bunn promises that the San Francisco version is sure to “unlock the imagination like never before.”

While the Los Angeles edition featured a signature sprinkle pool filled with 100 million sprinkles (thankfully, antimicrobial plastic), it’s been announced that the San Francisco pop-up will introduce new and unseen installations with new smells and flavors and that the sprinkle pool will be “completely re-imagined.”

One thing that will be unique to San Francisco is the fact that the exhibit will be displayed in 108-year-old Emporio Armani Building, playing on the dichotomous rift between new-age social media outlets and the old-school concrete charms afforded by such structures. (So far, the permits filed have hinted that a large walk-in freezer could be part of the exhibit.)

Screaming yet? We are!

// The Museum of Ice Cream will take place at 1 Grant Avenue, and tickets are expected go to on sale in mid-August. Get on the email list to be notified so you can purchase before they sell out!
