Traits
As with the Recruitable Character guide, we have broken characters up within the lists by their Traits. Briefly explained, Traits determine things like what weapons a character can use. They also determine how effective a character is against another based on a Paper-Rock-Scissors-type rotation. More info on this is available in the basic character guide.
Epic
Epic characters can either be purchased in the game or earned by completing missions found on the Roadmap. Many Epic characters are also Elite. However, all Elite are not Epic.

Elite
As noted above, Elite characters can often be Epic, but not all of them will be. The primary difference is the missions that are required to obtain them. More detailed information on both character types is available in the basic character guide.

Trainers
Trainers are a very special type of character that can be used to increase the amount of XP generated when leveling up other characters. This means that these characters will be sacrificed, but it’s more than worth it for the increased XP. Trainers with specific personas also have the added benefit of guaranteeing a level up to Adrenaline Rush when used to level characters of the same Persona.
Note: Universal Trainers produce and AR level for all Personas, while basics don’t produce them at all.

Specialists
Specialists are newer additions to the game. Rather than having a Leadership Skill like most characters, they have a “Specialist Skill.” These skills are triggered automatically during combat when the appropriate conditions are met.
