Make good decisions at Santacon

When: December 9th, wakeup-pass out

Where: Literally everywhere

Why: The most beautiful thing about Santacon is that it’s international – meaning, by the time you wake up on Saturday morning, drunken Santas will have stormed Sydney, London, and New York. Santacon is a city-wide Santa-themed pub crawl. The sled’s full of Jack Daniels, and there ain’t no stopping it. // Don’t buy tickets for this one. Just show up.

Shopping is good for feminism, and vice versa

When: December 9th, 12 P.M. – 6 P.M.

Where: Women’s Building, San Francisco

Why: Style Lounge Events is presenting an opportunity to shop from local independent woman-owned and operated businesses. Female vendors will be selling apparel, jewelry, artisanal food, art, home goods and more at the historic Women’s Building. The Women’s Building is a women-led community space founded in 1971 to advocate self-determination, gender equality and social justice. // 3543 18th St. #8, Mission, RSVP on Eventbrite

Sugar cures hangovers (no it doesn’t)

When: December 9th, 1 P.M. – 3 P.M.

Where: Neiman Marcus, San Francisco

Why: Sugarfina and Sanrio have teamed up to make the holidays extra cute and sweet – so what better way to celebrate this than to take pics with Hello Kitty and indulge in treats that would freak out your dentist? This one is full of guaranteed adorableness. // 150 Stockton St., Union Square, RSVP to events@sugarfina.com

Pour one out for one of the greats

When: December 10th, 3:30 P.M. – 6 P.M.

Where: Union Square Christmas Tree and House of Shields

Why: Once upon a time in a quaint but not at all boring town called San Francisco, there was a man who declared himself Emperor Norton. He had two fine canine besties named Bummer and Lazarus (see their Wikipedia page), and this weekend his legacy will be honored. Emperor Norton will meet you under the Union Square Christmas Tree at 3:30 P.M., walk to House of Shields, and make a formal toast at 5 P.M. The drink for the toast will be a classic Boothby cocktail – created in 1908 by legendary San Francisco bartender William T. “Cocktail” Boothby, during his tenure at the Palace Hotel. // House of Shields, 39 New Montgomery St., SoMa, hosted by The Emperor’s Bridge Campaign
